A Review After the First Month

We brought in the Hydro-Blast 5000 to clean forging dies that had been in service for three years. The first month was a test of whether the unit could handle the carbon buildup without damaging the die surfaces. After thirty days of daily use, I can say the machine did exactly what it was supposed to do.

The pressure stayed consistent at 4800 PSI even when we ran it for six hours straight. The dual-pump system made a real difference — no drop-off during the afternoon shift. We cleaned about forty dies in that first month, and the cycle time was roughly half of what we used to get with our old abrasive blaster.

There was one issue with the inlet filter clogging on the third day, but the manual showed how to clean it in under five minutes. After that, no interruptions. The operator training took about two hours, and the team picked it up quickly.

I would recommend this unit to any shop that does heavy tooling restoration. It is not a general-purpose washer — it is built for the kind of baked-on contamination you see in metallurgical work. That is its strength.
